Artist Profiles

Artist Profile: Loika

Welcome to the second of our "Artist Profiles" - little looks at the many talented artists working to bring Firelight to life, and the work they're contributing to the game.

Our first Artist Profile previewed Michelle Czajkowski and her work on many of the magic-themed characters and Quests. For our second installment we welcome another beloved artist - Loika, creator of novella The Weight After Water and designer of many hundreds of ethereal images.

Loika's 'The Lantern Festival' image was the first we showed from Firelight, but today we're going to be previewing some of her rough character work, as well. Her dynamic, painterly style puts the deeper and darker sides of Firelight on clear display.

Read on to preview brand-new images from Loika!

'The Lantern Festival' is Firelight's most sentimental Quest, as players work together to build a lantern that commemorates their friendship. For this image, we wanted to showcase beautiful imagery with just a taste of the magic that runs through Firelight's world.

Loika's stylized line work brings life to the athletic, intelligent Archer. This Adventurer has great perceptive power, making her great at spotting and manipulating unique features of the environment around her. She can also target foes from a distance, dealing damage and giving your party the upper hand as you enter combat.

WHAT'S NEXT?

After each of the above sketches is finalized and colored, they will be applied to our game cards and used to give players guidance and inspiration during their play sessions. Better yet, each Quest card will be jumbo-sized, giving players a better view of all the magic.
